Bluefield hosts Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Energy and Net Zero

Minister Michael Shanks and his team met with senior representatives from Bluefield.


Bluefield is pleased to announce that alongside its key investment partner GLIL Infrastructure (GLIL), it hosted Michael Shanks, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, at the Group’s solar farm at Manor Farm Eggington, near Leighton Buzzard on 9 September 2024. The site is owned by Bluefield Solar Income Fund, a London listed income fund focused primarily on acquiring and managing solar energy assets in the UK.

James Armstrong, Bluefield’s Founder and Managing Partner, and Jonathan Selwyn, the Managing Director of Bluefield Development, accompanied Minister Shanks and his team throughout the site visit. They highlighted to the Minister the £2 billion of UK based solar and battery storage investment that the Group currently manages as well as the 1.8GW pipeline of development projects that will help deliver the government’s Clean Energy Mission.

James and Jonathan also demonstrated to Minister Shanks the breadth of the Group’s activities from greenfield development to operational optimisation whilst offering innovative examples of the Group’s approach to biodiversity management and community engagement.

The Bluefield team were extremely encouraged by the discussions held with Minister Shanks and his team and are looking forward to contributing to the government’s 2030 target ambitions
